How we score slots: the SlotSnob 1–10 method
Five categories, one number. Here's exactly what goes into every SlotSnob rating.
SlotSnob Editorial · Oct 19, 2026 · 1 min read
Every review on SlotSnob ends in a single score from 1 to 10. That number is built from five categories, each scored independently by the review team.
The five categories
- Gameplay — how the base game feels over a long session: pacing, hit rate, and whether spins stay interesting.
- Graphics — art direction, animation quality and readability on desktop and mobile.
- Audio — soundtrack and effects. Does the audio add tension, or does it get muted after ten minutes?
- Features — the depth and originality of bonus rounds, multipliers and special mechanics.
- Value — RTP, volatility, max win and bonus-buy pricing considered together. A high RTP with a punishing feature price can still score poorly here.
What the scores mean
| Score | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 9.0 – 10 | Elite. A benchmark for its genre. |
| 8.0 – 8.9 | Great. Easy to recommend. |
| 7.0 – 7.9 | Good, with clear caveats. |
| 5.0 – 6.9 | Mixed. Worth a look for fans of the theme or provider. |
| Below 5 | Hard to recommend. |
